When a more gentle approach is required
Where traditional building cleaning has relied on high pressure Jet washers, Steam cleaning or Pressure washing, it is effective, but can often damage the surface being worked upon. But what happens when we need to clean a delicate substrate without removing any of it’s surface?
The Answer? Super-heated Water Cleaning.
What is it?
Our Thermatech system is a super-heated steam cleaning system that cleans stonework and masonry using very high temperature, at very low pressure to leave surfaces outstandingly clean and without any damage.
ThermaClean offers Professional surface preparation on the Isle of Man. Cleaner, quicker and more gentle than other methods. We can remove virtually any surface.
What can it clean off?
The system has a proven history of removing soot, oil, grease and organic matter from a wide range of substrates including masonry, render, k-rend and cladding. It is highly effective for the removal and melting of:
- Flexible paints
- Surface treatments
- Gum
- Wax
- Bitumen
- Organic matter including moss, algae and fungi
Not only does it remove organic matter effortlessly but during the cleaning process the 150C heat also kills off spores from the surface meaning there is no need for chemicals during the removal or as a protection.
Using an abrasive injection attachment, we can now effectively remove of brittle coatings such as:
- Carbon sulphation
- Lime wash
- Cement based paints
- Mineralic paint coatings – even from timber
- Metal corrosion
- Cement residue
- Salt/Lime efflorescence
The ThermaTech system is the industry leading system of equipment for cleaning brittle and historic stonework such as churches and listed buildings. It is highly recognised all over the world for its gentle but super effective cleaning techniques.
ThermaClean are highly experienced in removing all types of stains and impurities from all types of stonework being flat or structured, restoring natural colour to the façade without any risk of damage being caused to the stones surface.
Our steam based cleaning machine reaches temperatures of up to 150 degrees and is excellent at removing dirt, grime and paint from your brick work, without causing any damage to the brick surface. Ideal for both heritage and listed buildings and new builds alike.
We carry out professional surface preparation for works of Building Restoration and Conservation. ThermaTech is ideal for delicate, historic surfaces and substrates and is being used daily on many landmark structures and projects around the world.
Façade cleaning is not only done to improve the appearance and aesthetics of stone buildings, but also because soiling can cause decay. Vehicle exhaust emissions and environmental pollution cause not only discolouration of stonework but can actually cause it to deteriorate.
Cleaning a building’s façade isn’t just about improving the way it looks, it’s about preventing or minimising permanent damage to its masonry. ThermaTech remove surface contaminates without the use of harmful chemicals.
Plaster render is a soft exterior that can be easily damaged with normal power washing techniques. ThermaClean’s expert use of ThermaTech machinery ensures that the houses look like new with no damage to the render whatsoever.
We are able to quickly and safely remove flexible paints and surface treatments as well as non-temperature responsive coatings such as cement, mineralic and lime based paints – without the use of chemicals.
Algae, Fungi, Lichen and Mould are some of the most common types of organic matter to inhabit stonework on the Island. We can remove 100% of all organic growths, and also exterminate all biological spores – preventing further infestations.
Brick, concrete, stone, stucco or other building surfaces can produce white crystals known as efflorescence on the surface. Using gentle abrasion, our super heated water system can remove efflorescence without damaging surfaces.
